Tap Amy Gleason, Administrator of New Office Doge

  • The White House issued the name of the office of the DOGE office.
  • Is Amy Gleason, a former nurse who has spent decades in the medical records space.
  • For weeks, it was unclear who, if anyone, occupied the position.

The White House on Tuesday was appointed by Amy Gleason as the administrator of the White House office office after weeks of confusion about who was running the agency.

A White House official confirmed Gleason’s role for Business Insider. Since early Tuesday evening, Gleason had not publicly commented on the meeting, and her X account was private. In her bio, she identified herself as a “former response to Covid with the American digital service”.

Representatives for the White House, Musk, Doge and Gleason did not respond to a commentary request from BI.

Gleason worked in numerous roles in the US digital service, the Obama era agency that President Donald Trump reprinted as the US Doge service, according to its LinkedIn. She served as a digital services expert at the agency From October 2018 to December 2021 and as a senior adviser starting in January 2025, according to the LinkedIn site.

Jonathan Kamens, a former USDS engineer who was fired On February 14, and a current USDS employee told both Business Insider that Gleason joined the agency between elections and inauguration.

“From our point of view, she has been surprised by the things that come out of Doge like the rest of us,” the current employee said. They said they do not see it as “part of the musk crew”.

Kamens said he was told Gleason was there to help move to Trump’s second administration.

Gleason’s background also extends to the private sector, and even clashes against the profiles of other White House office employees, according to its LinkedIn profile. The site shows that Gleason has worked as the leading product official at Russell Street Ventures between November 2021 and December 2024, an investment firm in the health industry founded by Brad Smith, which Bi previously identified as a DOGE employee. Kendall Lindemann, whom Bi also identified as working for The Doge Efffort, also worked at Russell Street Ventures.

Gleason’s road has changed by some of the private sector titans and new engineers involved in the White House office. She started as a nurse, according to a podcast of 2022 with the syllable company. Gleason also said in Podcast that she previously linked a company to help patients with a chronic illness caused by experience of care coordinating after her daughter was diagnosed with a rare disease.

“The rest of my career is mainly electronic medical records that start as an ER nurse,” Gleason said in Podcast.

According to her LinkedIn, Gleason has worked in high positions in a variety of healthcare companies since the late 1990s.

Obama’s White House honored Gleason as a “Champion of Change” for its work in the medical records space.

Although Elon Musk is closely linked to the DOGE office, the White House previously said in a court, presenting that he is not the group leader and, on the contrary, serves as a senior Trump adviser. Bi previously reported that Musk’s title was written as “Delivery” in a White House record.

For weeks, the White House had refused to say if there was a DOGE administrator – let alone name one. Trump created position on the day of inauguration. He had previously said that Elon Musk would run the DOGE office, though Musk was never named.

On Tuesday, reporters repeatedly printed White House print secretary Caroline Leavitt who was Doge’s administrator. After the end of her conference, the traffic light first began the role of Gleason.

Trump is set to hold his first official cabinet meeting on Wednesday, where Leavitt said he would discuss the work of the DOGE office.

Musk is expected to be present. It is unclear if Gleason will be too.
